noRTH AMERICAN LITHUANIAN  Business forum 2022

On June 29th the 2022 in The Union League of Philadelphia, the North American Lithuanian Business (NALB) Forum gathered more than 200 attendees and 37 speakers for one day of discussions and networking focusing on:
Lithuanian Economic achievements and opportunities
Entry strategy to the U.S. Market via Pennsylvania
Discussing about Lithuanian and North American investment opportunities
Discussing opportunities within Lithuanian Startup Ecosystem
Providing Lithuanian Food And Beverage degustation and networking
The NALB Forum was organized in collaboration with the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), Global Lithuanian Leaders (GLL), Lithuanian-American Community, New York Lithuanian Professionals (NYLP), Chicago Lithuanian Professionals (LCCC), Los Angeles Lithuanian Professionals (LABA.LA), San Francisco & Bay Area Lithuanians, Canadian Lithuanian Professionals, the Embassy of Republic of Lithuanian to the U.S., the Embassy of Republic of Lithuanian to Canada, Consulate General of Republic of Lithuanian in New York, Consulate General of Republic of Lithuanian in Chicago, the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

The genesis of NALB Forum goes back to 2019 when two Lithuanian business clubs of Washington and Los Angeles together with the Lithuanian embassy in Washington in partnership with Danas Vaitkevicius kicked off the first Forum to create collaboration between Lithuanian business organizations and Lithuanian commerce diplomats to work as one team to enhance export & import opportunities for Lithuania, followed by 2021 Online North American Lithuanian Business Forum during Pandemics which showed the need and appetite for an in person Forum. Step by step we are coming together to build highways of partnerships across the states, work together with each other more effectively, empower creative collaboration ensuring continuity, flow of ideas, talent, services, and products.

Ambassador Audra PlepytÄ— will present her goals for bi-lateral trade and investment, identify priority and high-growth business sectors, share new efforts to assist cross-border transactions, and report on the latest news from Lithuania’s ministers and business leadership.

​

Followed by her presentation, Ambassador PlepytÄ— looks forward to a dynamic Q/A session, open to ideas, best practices, queries and suggestions.

 

Ambassador Audra PlepytÄ— assumed the duties of Ambassador of Lithuania to the U.S. in May 2021. Prior to her appointment, she was Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the United Nations from 2017 to 2021. Ambassador PlepytÄ— served as Director of the European Union Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2017.

​

She was Lithuania’s Ambassador to Spain and the World Tourism Organization between 2010 and 2014, and the Director of the Ministry’s Personnel Department from 2009 to 2010.

Her other assignments within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs included leading the International Missions and Conflict Prevention Division (2008-2009), serving as Deputy Representative to the Political and Security Committee within Lithuania’s Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels (2004-2008), and heading the Human Rights and Non-Governmental Organizations Division (2003-2004).

​

Her service also included postings as Deputy Permanent Representative and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the United Nations (1999-2002), Counsellor at Lithuania’s Embassy to the United States (1999), Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Northern European Division (1998-1999) and Advisor to the CBSS Commissioner for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (1997-1998).

​

Ambassador PlepytÄ— has BA and MA in Philosophy at Vilnius University. She also has a diploma from the Institute of International Relations at Vilnius University, as well as a certificate of Diplomatic studies at Oxford University in UK.
